Instructions
Look into your physical and emotional body. Locate
a feeling of anger, fear or contraction. Find its
physical location. Now, take that feeling and invite
it into your heart center. Slowly, open your eyes,
and look up. Inhale deeply and, as you begin to
exhale, bring the feeling up and let its expression
be laughter. Stay connected to the feeling.
Experience the difficulty of laughing instead of your
normal habitual response. Let the laughter build
and then die out on its own. Observe the quality of
your consciousness during and after the process.
Recognize the insight of how you have transformed
and expressed your habitual negative reactions to
feelings through laughter. Be aware of the resulting
experience of freedom. Do three rounds of laughter.
First round, stay connected
to the feeling state itself.
Second round, laugh with the realization
of how foolish it is to habitually react to feeling
with emotional immaturity.
Third round, laugh from the depth of your being
for no reason other than joy, start with a subtle
smile connected to the core of your spirit.
Intention
The intention of sacred laughter is to develop
the skillful means for changing our reactions to
negative feelings and emotions. We can respond to
negative feelings with more desirable conscious
alternatives such as humor and loving-kindness.
